The Truth about the So Called Resurrection of SoLR

How can that which had many parts be declared complete with only two minor parts remaining?

As many of you have read, the old SoLR has gone through what they call a "resurrection" just months after sending another email claiming SoLR was dead . We, the member and trustees of Biker Republic call it a "restructuring". SoLR was NOT dead - it was disbanded by the egomaniacs who own the name in order to get more glory for themselves on the backs of the workers (members) who were actually in the trenches taking on the battles for them.

The email announcing the "new" SoLR was not sent to the old members. We were not approached to help with the new organization or be a part of it at all. To say the restructuring of SoLR was amicable between all parties involved would be a lie! The members and trustees of Biker Republic were unceremoniously kicked to the curb by the "kings" of SoLR without warning or consultation. No explanation, no discussion.

The disappointment, anger and frustration felt by the old members is also unexplainable. After years of pouring work, money and emotion into the old organization only to be kicked out left a bad taste in our mouths. The MEMBERS of SoLR did the work... going to MOTM, Best of the West, Beast of the East, Heartland STEAM, Mid-South Mile and NCOM... along with helping form up the Southern Cross Conference. The MEMBERS of SoLR were active... encouraging people to get politically involved, going to Statehouses and Washington D.C. to lobby, writing position papers outlining the issues facing motorcyclists nationwide, leading the Breakfast Boycott at MOTM in St. Louis to protest kissing the "motor company's" ass. The MEMBERS of SoLR were ALL leaders in their state SMRO. The MEMBERS of SoLR were out there leading the fight... OUR faces were the face of SoLR.

All the while the two "keyboard cowboys" who actually only owned the name were sitting quietly at home enjoying the rewards of the MEMBERS work without lifting a finger.

This is why Biker Republic was formed and why Biker Republic will NEVER have to be "resurrected". Because Biker Republic was formed by regular folk, workers who have a deep desire to change the face of our nation. Any ass-clown can throw up a website and say they care about motorcycle issues ("Bruthe" and "Long Distance Riders" is a perfect example of THAT) but how much respect should they be given when they don't leave the comfort of their little computers to ride in the winter to the Statehouse or stand in the blazing sun handing out leaflets in an attempt to motivate others or risk alienating the status quo by fighting against the mainstream group think when the cause is righteous? We say they deserve NO RESPECT AT ALL!

The members and trustees of Biker Republic had decided to take the high road in all of this - to let it go and move on. But the original press release blaming the members of SoLR for it's downfall was tough to swallow and this new "resurrection" (that we call "restructuring") is a slap in the face that MUST be answered and explained.

Each of you reading this will decide for yourselves whether or not to spend any time with the "new" SoLR. Biker Republic will NOT fault anyone for "performing" (because it won't be actual work) with the "new" SoLR.

However, Biker Republic will NEVER support or even recognize the "new" SoLR as a viable organization. Biker Republic recognizes and supports "salt of the earth" folk who do the work... NOT those motivated by selfish personal interests or egomaniacs who only talk the talk but do NOT walk the walk.

Sons of Liberty Riders Obituary

as orginally posted by egomaniacs Animal and Hawk

Sons of Liberty Riders passed away March 31 2007 at 11:59 PM EST. SoLR lived a good and healthy life, she also prospered greatly in her infancy. As a young group SoLR thrived using the power of the Internet, which was also in its infancy. For more than a few years SoLR was the premiere clearinghouse of information in motorcycle rights. A dream of Animal and myself to see information shared freely and openly between motorcyclists. As time went on as with anything aging, changes come about naturally and SoLR was no different. In its latter years like most groups complacency, selfish agenda’s and ego were the cause of death. The time has more than past to let go of our baby and bury her. She led a great, healthy and beautiful life!

To anyone who has been on one of our lists, supported us in any way or been to a TEA Party, we Thank You! You were the reason we started this, and stuck with it so long even after things went wrong. You were also what perpetuated an idea that a few bikers brainstormed so long ago. For all of the good days we shared together we truly are grateful.
